In Full Bloom

For centuries flowers have been an inspiration for fashion, they keep coming back as a trend, even if I like to think a bold flower print is never out. Since 2012 they started blooming in the fashion scene, passing from being a source of inspiration to protagonists of new stories. Suddenly flowers started to gather more attention than the clothes itself, they are not only there for the ornamental purpose, they become part of the scene. The flower arrangements trend started by Raf Simons flower rooms when debuting Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection. One million fresh flowers were placed in five large rooms, Christian Dior obsession with flowers was translated into the salons.
After two years as Creative Director of the online retailer Moda Operandi, Taylor Tomasi Hill decided it was time to begin her own venture in the flower world. Taylor started doing her own personal blooms and distributing them as thank you notes, but  suddenly all her friends asked her for more and  it evolved into a  business. Now she does miniature flower arrangements mainly for fashion events.
We can´t forget Kim and Kanye flower hall on their wedding.
Marni organized a one day Flower Market during Milan Fashion Week to celebrate the brands 20th Anniversary. Flowers, Columbian animal sculptures, canvas aprons and Marni shopping bags sold out.
Dries Van Noten showed his Spring-Summer 2015 collection in a furry grass like carpet that evoked Renoir's "Dejeuner Sur L'Herber".

"September is the January in Fashion"

My current motto is "better later than never". After one year I'm back on track. The last months were full of changes and new projects, my professional and personal life changed completely. I changed job twice and got involved in so many interesting projects.
Moved country once, ✓ Change home  Meeting new people
The quote "September is the January in Fashion" never made so much sense in my life. Here is a recap of last year´s best moments:
Anna Piaggi "Hat-ology" exhibition in Milan. When I met Pat Cleveland, It was a pleasure to meet the 60's iconic model, had the best time!
Moschino 30th Anniversary is one of the fashion moments that I will never forget, I got the chance to interview Rosella Jardini the former Creative Director, met Pat Cleveland, Rita Ora, and danced with Gloria Gaynor singing live.
April and May were full months. In April someone very dear to me had the chance to show and confirm one more time how much he is relevant in the design scene nowadays. In May I moved country, It´s been a long time since I wanted move North and now here I am in Denmark.
For a good start in Copenhagen I had the pleasure to work with Pernille Mobjerg Knudsen  and Charlotte Mobjerg Ansel-Henry at the Jewellery Room during  Copenhagen Fashion Week, Room, a showcase of finest Danish Jewellery brands.
A new new chapter is now open...

These shoes were made for walking

With my new slippers I will walk towards my holidays. Finally I'm leaving Milan for my much awaited holidays !
These slippers are actually called "Friulane", they are also known for the gondoliers shoes. They were born at the end of the Second World War, in the countryside region near Venice, using waste materials such as old bicycle tires and old cloths. They were a low cost option to the expensive leather shoes.
I bought these "friulane" in one of the last few places in Venice were you will be assure to buy the artisanal ones. The store is called Gianni Dittura and it opened in 1948.
Mr.Dittura was nice and kind while helping me to find the right "friulane".
